1910s Edwardian Knickers / Open Crotch Bloomers White Cotton & Eyelet Lace Ruffle Trim~ Undergarment ~ Up to 38” Waist

FEATURES: FRESHLY HAND LAUNDERED, WEARABLE KNICKERS/BLOOMERS. EDWARDIAN CRISP WHITE COTTON, IN LOVELY CONDITION. ESTIMATED circa 1900-1910s. A WONDERFUL ADDITION FOR ANY BEGINNING COLLECTOR. MADE FROM COTTON & EMBELLISHED WITH MULTIPLE, CORAL PINK SILK RIBBON, EYELET LACE TRIM AND RUFFLES. INNER SLITS ON THE BLOOMERS TO CREATE AN OPEN INNER CROTCH, BUT COULD EASILY BE SEWN CLOSED IF YOU PREFER. STRING TIE CLOSURE IN BACK. Hand sewn and tailor marked for “MANDLER”.
**Note the tiny red thread sewn in the waistband. In the late 1800s and early 1900s, laundries used red thread—(often called Turkey Red) because it was a bright, color-fast thread. People stitched it inside linens so they could easily keep track of their items after community laundering, making it simple to return them to the right owner. It has become a sought after antique detail in antique undergarments.

CONDITION: FRESHLY HAND LAUNDERED AND STEAMED. “GOOD” PRE-OWNED ANTIQUE CONDITION.

NOTABLE ISSUES: (refer to last photo for up close details). a few small faint spots , some faint yellowing along the open inner and outer seams. the ribbon has some fraying at the base. Nothing that really detracts. * I cannot guarantee long-term durability due to the age of the fabric and thread. handle with care if wearing. Sold as-is.
