Historical Provenance:
The Boss of the Road label was Established in 1852 by Louis and Henry Neustadter, the San Francisco based company was an early powerhouse in area of workwear. They manufactured "Boss of the Road" overalls and "Standard" shirts, along with a wide range of other products. In 1878 the company started a Oregon branch in Portland. Both the California and Oregon locations were incorporated in 1900. The company applied for and granted several United States Patents on their garments, including one in 1877 for a continuous fly on their overalls. This would strengthen the garment at the point where the two inner seams meet.

PLEASE NOTE: ABOUT VINTAGE

Please understand that vintage clothing and vintage fabric have age to it, and even when in excellent condition, they show wear. They are not new items. Even the most cared for vintage items of clothing is likely to have some wear and tear and vintage pieces can commonly have tiny spots/marks, fading/yellowing, or pin holes. I attempt to present all damage by describing and photographing it but sometimes little things get by me. If you are not happy with your purchase, please contact me right away after receiving your purchase to arrange for a return. Items are sourced from local estate auctions, and business liquidations. Items will have some wear as to be expected with used goods. Please read the description and look at pictures carefully as all items will be as described. Measurements are taken to the best of our ability, but there may be a 5-10% variation. Please remember that colors photograph and can display differently depending on the camera and/or the computer.

Buy with confidence! I have been selling online since 2006, and my continuing goal is to establish and maintain happy customers and 100% Feedback rating. My items are sourced from a variety of venues including estate and auctions. Some are new, but most are pre-owned or vintage, so I have no way of knowing the complete history, or if the item has always been stored in a smoke or pet free environment (my home is smoke free, and pet friendly). I strive to ensure 100% customer satisfaction and I will always do my best to provide accurate pictures and descriptions, and note any issues I observe when I inspect my items....but mistakes do happen from time to time. In the unlikely event that there is a problem with your order, please contact me immediately so I can resolve any issues for you...my goal is always for you to be happy in the end so I can hopefully have the opportunity to earn your business in the future.
