1890s-c1900s VICTORIAN GOWN. A STUNNING ANTIQUE GOLD AND INKY BLACK BROCADE PRINT DRESS. 2 PIECE GIBSON GIRL STYLE, INCLUDING A FULLY LINED, SNAP CLOSURE WAIST JACKET WITH A “MINI” BUSTLE BACK SKIRT WITH FABULOUS DRAPING. THE SKIRT ALSO INCLUDES A FULL SWEEP HEM,
TRIMMED WITH DELICATE BLACK VELVET RIBBON AND DOUBLE TIERED RUFFLE DETAILS. THE BODICE/JACKET HAS LOTS OF FINE DETAILS, INCLUDING: ADDITIONAL VELVET RIBBON TRIM, SCOOP SHAPED RUFFLED NECKLINE, A STIFF HIGH COLLAR AND NECKLINE WITH DELICATE WHITE APPLIQUÉ EMBELLISHMENTS. CONDITION: RARE PRE-OWNED ANTIQUE CONDITION. *WEARABLE-(WITH GREAT CARE).

NOTABLE ISSUES-REFER TO LAST PHOTO FOR UP CLOSE DETAILS OF NOTABLE ISSUES.
1) Soiling/yellowing inside on the lining-does not show from the outside.
2) A few isolated spots, refer to last photo for up close details.
3) Sheer white silk organza fabric was originally used directly below the collar, around the neckline (along with the delicate piping and appliqué). The organza has begun to shred, not really visible from afar, with the exception of the piping that has begun to shift. It has been tacked down to Hold in place where necessary. Ideally to fully restore: the organza should be replaced or removed completely.
